You will have a flat fee, with NO mileage charges or surcharges of any kind. I work hard to make my programs affordable because of my love for libraries.
Whenever you book one of my programs you will receive a colorful flier that you can duplicate and hang to promote the program. I’ll send you a digital PDF so you can print as many as you like. Additionally, if your event is open to the public, I’ll also send you a complete, customized-for- your-event press release that you can send to your local newspaper to generate more interest in the event. These materials will help “get the word out” to get more people into your event for my program!
I have experience presenting programs to all kinds of groups – hundreds of school-age children, hundreds of teens at a high school, hundreds of adults in an auditorium, and all points in between. I guarantee everyone will LOVE my show!
Some people may hear the idea of a magic show in a library and be concerned over the possible chaos, but because of my nearly 20 years of experience and detailed understanding of the development of children allows me to maintain a level of interactive fun without the event turning into a “free-for-all.”
I have YEARS of experience presenting programs to all ages all over North America (36 states in the United States and many parts of Canada!) I’m equally skilled at crafting and presenting a program to school-age children as I am for adults, YAs and teens. I guarantee each audience will be enthralled, regardless of the age range.
Your guests are actively involved during the program. No one is made fun of and everyone who helps will feel great about helping me during my program. Adults always remark about how well I work with children, teens and even adults!
Some performers ask a LOT from busy event planners. You know the ones–they want special lighting, a dressing room, and their own bowl of green M&M’s. Not me! I can present my programs anywhere – and because these programs were specifically designed for children and family events, I guarantee space and set-up requirements will be minimal. I bring my own PA system, tables, everything! You’ll be amazed at how quickly I can set up, meaning minimal disruptions in your schedule.
Just look around my website and you will see a tiny sample of the feedback my programs have received over the years. It’s one thing for a presenter to toot his own horn, but it’s impossible to argue with honest feedback from librarians and program coordinators!
While I use NOTHING dangerous or inappropriate in my programs (no off-color humor, etc.), I am fully insured for your peace of mind! If you need a copy of the insurance on file or if you need me to add your library as an “additional insured” for my performance, no problem – just call the office and I’ll take care of it!
I truly believe in the quality of my programs. Therefore I guarantee them! My simple guarantee works like this: If you don’t feel my program was worth MORE than I said it was, I’ll return your full fee PLUS donate $250 to your library just for wasting your time…and after presenting thousands of programs for almost two decades, NO ONE has ever requested their money back!
“If you are looking for a fun program for kids when school is out for a break, look no further than Cris Johnson’s Magic Show and Balloon Twisting workshop. I have had other balloon twisting workshops in the past, but none held a candle to this one. Cris literally came with hundreds of vibrantly colored twisty balloons all blown up and organized for quick and easy action. He started his show off with his signature magic show then, with the kids attention focused, he taught kids as young as four years old on up to senior citizens how to twist and contort the balloons into a variety of fun things. There were swords and holsters, butterflies, dogs, jet packs and even a crazy hat!
Once the kids (and adults) had the hang of the basic skill set, he let them all have at it on their own. The organized chaos was absolutely fascinating to watch! Children loaded up with armfuls of balloons and let their newly learned skills loose. The kids used their imaginations and creativity to twist up all sorts of crazy critters, goofy hats and suits of armor. Every single child (and adult) left the program with a smile as long as the Nile! As expected, this show was a grand success, and I you can bet that I will continue to think of Cris when I am looking for a family friendly, seriously fun program to host at the library!”

“Thank you for your dynamic, funny, and entertaining program through the magician’s lens. Our students came away with your powerful message and were thoroughly entertained in the process.”

“Cris presented a great show. The kids were in stitches. He incorporated the NYS Summer Reading theme and even recommended books on that theme for the kids to read. Cris encouraged a lot of audience participation which enhanced the performance even more. I will definitely ask him to come back again.”
