Field trips are fun, but a logistical nightmare. You have to deal with buses, permission slips, insurance, and the high costs of getting everyone to and from these events safely. But what if there was a way to bring the field trip right to your students? An in-school field trip is the perfect answer!
During “Jurassic Journeys,” your students will get up close and personal with amazing dinosaur relics from the past. They’ll learn about:
But this is not just a dry, boring lecture.
Your students get to see and touch dinosaur fossils, including teeth, claws, skulls, and much more. And your students get an up-close “meet and greet” with Spike and Trixie, my two hyper-realistic dino-babies. They even roar!
Schools love my STEM programs. Here’s what a recent school client had to say about my STEM assemblies:
“Cris Johnson just performed 2 assemblies of his “Wacky Science Show” at our elementary school. The PTA is always in search of new STEM assemblies for the student body and Cris did an awesome job of tailoring the assemblies in a grade-appropriate manner (prek-2nd grade, and 3rd-5th grade). The teachers raved about how fun and educational the shows were. As an added bonus, he selected at least a dozen children at each of the assemblies so the kids were thoroughly engaged. We look forward to booking Cris again with one of his other shows!”
Thanks again!

Some STEM and in-house field trip presenters show up and place a few items on a simple table. Boring! “Jurassic Journeys” was created to bring an amazing theatrical experience to your school!
“The way that Cris relates to kids is simply unbelievable! I’ve never seen anyone do a better job during an assembly. He was FANTASTIC!”

Yes, audience interaction! Your students don’t just watch the show. They get in on the action.
The best in-school field trips get your students involved. Without direct interaction, your students become bored. Next thing you know, they’re poking each other, or even making ‘snow angels’ on the gym floor!
Here’s just a sample of how your students are involved during “Jurassic Journeys…”
“Jurassic Journeys” works best as an individual class or grade experience. Bring your students to the field trip area by class to guarantee an intimate, up-close experience. We can also accommodate your school’s kids by grade.
This in-school field trip can be booked for either half-day or full-day events.
The “Jurassic Journeys” program is 30-45 minutes, depending on the age of the children and how many encounters your school needs. This gives your students the best opportunity to handle fossils and directly interact with the presentation.
But there’s also another wonderful opportunity for your school’s field days!
Does your school host a special day for the end of your school year? Many schools plan special days with activities, games, and shows for their field days. “Jurassic Journeys” is the perfect special attraction for your field days!
We can schedule 30-minute “Jurassic Journeys” presentations throughout the day. In addition to the regular performance, I also bring dinosaur-themed games! Dino-Toss, a ring toss, and others give your students a chance to continue the dino-fun after the presentation.
Best of all, with the games, each “Jurassic Journeys” program can last a full 60 minutes! This can be the centerpiece activity of your entire field day.

“Your presentation was great. The students seemed to really enjoy it. The quick pace was great to keep everyone’s interest and the kids loved being able to actively participate in the presentation. That was great that you were able to include so many student participants. They really loved that. Thank you for coming in. We hope to see you again in the future.”

“Mr. Johnson visited our K-6 school at Samson Elementary and did three programs for our school. All comments from teachers and students were great! We are already planning to have him back at the beginning of the next school year. His presentations are tasteful and age-appropriate. I would recommend him to any school!”

“A super huge thank you for delivering an amazing assembly to the 3rd and 4th grade students at Wayne Elementary School. Your assembly was the perfect kick start to motivating our students to participate in their upcoming science fair. Your “Wacky Science” performance was exactly what I was hoping for! In looking around the auditorium during your performance, all eyes were on you, kids were excited, and each and every one of them were engaged. Your assembly was educational, animated, and so much fun! We will be looking to have you back next year!”

“Cris Johnson did a good job of engaging the audience. All of the students were really excited about the various scientific experiments. He included a lot of detailed scientific information, but presented the information in such a manner that it was understandable for all students. He also did a good job of managing the crowd and bringing the kids back when they started to get over excited to ensure they were still paying attention.”

“Every student and even every teacher were engaged in The Wacky Science Show! It was a perfect combination of humorous grabbing entertainment and knowledgable interesting science experiments. All of the experiments were appropriate and simple for the students to watch and understand. Our school has a large ENL (English as a New Language) population, and the scientific language that was used was supported by visuals or examples with an experiment. Students got to participate in their seats as well as on stage, making everyone feel like an included scientist. Cris was also very entertaining and patient. This will be a great assembly to have at our school again!”

“We loved his science school assemblies!! It was high energy and extremely engaging! The fast-pace kept all the students on their toes! The music added excitement that drew their attention in even further! I love how many student volunteers he chose because that made the students want to participate!!! I especially love how he asked the students to return to their classrooms quietly so that he would be invited back again! 😊 I cannot wait to look into his other show topics so that we can book again!”

“Cris just finished his show. I want to tell you how absolutely incredible he was! He kept every single student and staff member engaged for the entire 45 minute period. His presentation was perfect for our students. They were amazed, shocked, eager, and all left interested in learning more about science. Thank you so much for gifting us this show! Thank you thank you thank you! I would not hesitate to have Cris back for any other shows he offers.”
