Important Information About Cris Johnson’s Fun Reading School Assemblies

My fun reading school assembly, “I Love To Read,” uses age-appropriate humor, tons of audience participation, music and plenty of amazing magic to keep the students focused. Additionally, I provide a fun “recap” of the entire show at the end to reinforce my messages.

As always, I bring all of my own props and tables, and carry my own backdrop and compact state-of-the-art sound system. This is an act that can be performed in almost any location, large rooms or small, stage, auditorium, classroom or cafeteria. It can be adjusted to be suitable for groups of from 10 to 350.

Schools with larger enrollments should have two programs. Splitting a full-range school into, say, one K-2 program and another for grades 3-5 allows me to customize the language, magic effects, objectives and vocabulary to the different grade levels. When performing for Primary grades, I will make the school assembly program lighter, faster and more fun. When presenting the same program to Upper Elementary, I will use higher vocabulary, different magic, and focus more strongly on the objectives and cause and effect.

Also, unlike other fun reading school assemblies that use magic, all of my magic contains a message so the students remember not only the trick, but the message that goes with it! Primary schools, as well as middle schools, will benefit from the messages in my memorable, amazing programs!

Most importantly, I have developed an amazing technique to settle the students down at the end of the assembly program to make it easy for the teachers to move the children from the assembly area back to the classrooms. No other school assembly performer does this…and teachers love it!
